Regine Bartsch
Contemporary Artist

Regine Bartsch, born in 1951 in Hamburg, spent her youth in Finland and Syria before settling in Ireland. After studying art with a focus on textiles in Finland and Hamburg, she came to Kerry in 1978 as an artistic advisor to the Ballinskelligs Tapestry Project and founded her own studio in Cahersiveen in 1981. Her powerful, vibrant works, often marked by intense color contrasts, radiate energy and emotion—color rhythms that touch the viewer directly.

The Role Of Art In Politics. What is the role of art in the political sphere? This event invites reflection on the many connections between artistic expression and social processes. Regine Bartsch opens the space for a dialogue on how art makes attitudes visible, sparks debate, and can inspire change.
